FUMIGATION

As you know, several European countries or even China, Australia, Brazil, the United States and Canada, require that goods to be imported or exported, when packed in pallets, wooden crates or other wooden materials, have a fumigation certification. , even if the wood is only used for packaging.

The packaging of goods must go through a fumigation process to eliminate any parasites or woodworms present in the wood of the pallets, crates or packaging. Furthermore, everything must be duly certified by a phytosanitary officer.

Wooden packaging and supports can be potential vehicles for harmful organisms. Therefore, in the export process, it is necessary to subject the wood used to transport products to special treatment, with fumigation being one of the most commonly used methods

Fumigation is a process in which chemical compounds, in the form of gases or vapors, are used to eliminate the presence of woodworms, parasites, insects, weeds, fungi and microbes. Its main objective is the eradication of harmful microorganisms and it is mandatory to treat wood before exporting products, ensuring the absence of pests.

The process occurs in three stages:

  • Introduction of the gas, exposure time required for it to act and elimination of the product.
  • This procedure allows you to disinfect the air and surfaces, including inaccessible ones, as well as equipment.
  • General review, registration and certificate issuance

Benefits of our procedure:

  • Elimination or control of pests, such as insects, weeds and fungi;
  • Prevention of the spread of pests through wooden packaging, ensuring the phytosanitary safety of exported products;
  • Compliance with the standards and laws of different countries;
  • Minimization of logistical losses.
